TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF
I was born in Albany and moved to Perth when I was about 12. I lived south of the river and went to Rossmoyne High School. After year 12 I initially studied a Human Biology degree (which I never finished) at Curtin University before transferring to Podiatry as a mature age student (I was 25). I failed 1st year chemisty which meant I had to drop down to the year group below. Although disappointing, it worked out well in the end because a young girl called Rachel was in that year. Seven years later we got married!
WHAT WAS YOUR DREAM JOB AS A CHILD?
AFL Footballer
WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE PODIATRY AS A CAREER?
I saw a podiatrist when I was 14 because I was having knee pain/injuries playing footy. I got orthotics and they really helped. Then, when I was 16, my girlfriend’s brother was a podiatrist (and still is), so I did some work experience with him to find out what Podiatry was all about. The rest is history.
WHAT IS YOUR SPECIAL INTEREST AREA WITHIN PODIATRY?
I love looking after kid’s foot and lower limb problems.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE WAY TO SPEND A DAY OFF?
On the golf course (or relaxing with the family).
YOU WIN THE LOTTERY! WHAT’S THE FIRST THING YOU DO?
Celebrate. Then travel the world 1st class.
WHAT’S A FUN FACT THAT NOT MANY PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT YOU?
I was super shy as a kid. It was only when I was 18 and started working in a bar/nightclub that I came out of my shell. Back in the day, I also rocked a pretty wicked mullet!!
