Expert Care for Every Foot Concern
Heel & Arch Pain
Pain in the heel and arch can be caused by different conditions that affect the area’s bones, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and joints. The pain may vary from slight discomfort to intense and debilitating pain that hinders daily activities.
Toenail Fungus
It’s estimated that toenail fungus affects up to 1.6 million Australians. Nail fungus, also known as onychomycosis, is a common condition that occurs when a fungal infection affects one or more of the nails. This can happen on both fingernails and toenails but is more common on the latter.
Foot and Ankle Pain
Pain in the foot and ankle can be caused by different conditions that affect the area’s bones, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and joints. The pain may vary from slight discomfort to intense and debilitating pain that hinders daily activities.
Plantar Fasciitis
Many people experience pain in their heel or arch due to plantar fasciitis, which is caused by inflammation of the plantar fascia, a band-like ligament on the bottom of the foot. It is a common condition. We can provide treatment.
Unmanageable Toenails
Podiatrists treat many people who, for one reason or another, simply cannot manage their own toenails and general foot care. In fact, about 50% of all the people that see a podiatrist require general foot care and toenail management

Flat Feet
Flatfoot is a condition where one or both feet lack an arch. Arches usually develops during early childhood. If the arches don’t form or collapse later in life, it can cause pain and affect walking.
Corns and Calluses
Corns and calluses are thick layers of skin that develop due to friction or pressure. They usually occur on hands, fingers, feet, and toes. If left untreated, corns can cause pain and disrupt daily life. Corns develop when the skin thickens in response to mechanical stress, resulting from shear, friction, pressure, torsion, or tension acting on the body.

The big questions
Is Podiatry Covered by Medicare?
In order to be covered by Medicare a patient must have obtained an Enhanced Primary Care Plan from their General Practitioner. You are able to obtain an Enhanced Primary Care Plan if you have been classified by your doctor as having a chronic medical condition (such as diabetes). This plan may entitle you to 5 podiatry visits per year. This is solely at your doctor’s discretion. With this plan, the consultation will be subsidised partially by Medicare. We do not Bulk Bill.
